    Removing factory rear step/bar

Hi everyone. I just picked up a hayman Reese towbar for my shorty. I'm trying to figure out just how to remove the factory rear bar in order to slide the mounting nuts down the chassis rail. Any help would be amazing

Hey mate, remove the brake/indicator lights, then you will see there is 2 large bolts holding the side bumpers onto the chassis. Remove these, I think they're 17mm. Then there's about 3 or so bolts holding the rubber blocks to the chassis, remove these and your side bumpers will come off. The silver rear step needs the side bumpers removed and the 4 bolts in the center to be removed.
Use lots of inox if you haven't removed these in a long time. If it starts to feel stiff when undoing, don't force it. Just spray some more inox and tighten it up again. Then try again. Last thing you want to do it shear these bolts, which is very easy to do.

    Thanks parksy

Thanks parksy, I haven't removed the bar myself, I've had the shorty for almost 2 years now, and I don't know if the guy before me took it off either. Looks like I'm getting a whole lot of inox for this weekend

Thanks I've got some zinc plated bolts that are 8.8, same as the bolts that were in it. Luckily when I got the towbar from the wreckers it still had all the mounting bolts and plates. I've made new plates using 15mm thick plate instead if 12mm and im using longer bolts.
