Noise / Rattle at low revs
I have a 2005 4.2 turbo diesel. I get a noise or rattle sound when low revs, is this normal. If so can someone explain to me what the noise is.
If it is not normal can someone tell me what the noise could be and what do I need to fix it.
Truck has 145000 Kms. I have owned since it had 17000 Kms. The noise rattle has always been there

Mate throw her back a gear and it will go away, mine does the same and a couple of others do to when you are too low in revs and labouring the engine, some are worse than others.

Yep as strop said, mine rattles from 600-1000 rpm.. Done it since New..
Something to do with the harmonics of the engine and gearbox..
