For those who are interested or heading down south, SWAT4x4 are now supporting Pemberton Discovery Tours in their endeavours around the SW of WA.
They are an accredited Eco-Tourism business and run tag-along tours as well as normal tours through the SW in places like Yeagerup Dunes, Munda Biddi Trail, Bibblumun Track to name a few and they wrok closely with local land holders and Dept Parks and Wildlife with clean up, maintenance etc as well.

Neil do you know how to access keys for the gate to the oil well track on the way into Yeagerup? Apparently the locals have claimed land rights on the area....
Nah mate but can ask around down here for you, most of that land was owned by farmers and they just let you on there property, even most of the summertime track...will ask DEC know some people that work there.

right mate, the track is closed, yes they found some thing to do with the aboriginals of this area........But,the reason it has been shut off is the track is in need of repair, also it was shut to keep the integraty of the people who hired the hut(which used to be booked through DEC)...this track is only accessable to people willing to walk the 6km...at the moment Pemberton discovery tours is trying to get access to the keys and hopefully will be guardines of this track with the up keep, rubbish collection and a little track maintainance....the funding has been cut of from the state government to keep the track operating but DEC wants to be able to have money to open it back up for the use of fire fighting and access to water from the river there....If that happens the hut will be available for hire but you will need to book it through DEc.....
hope that helps ya out mate.

Cheers mate, didn't realise there was a hut down there, I thought that was on the eastern bank. I used to camp down there fairly often, beautiful spot.
