Not starting on the first crank
Patrol not starting on the first crank after the glow light has flick off.it takes now around 4-6 sec s to start with a white/grey smoke puff.with no more smoke visible once it has started .this is my first diesel

Check your glow plugs....I would say that you have one or some that are faulty.

when replacing glow plugs dont get the cheep ebay ones you will be back for another set in no time, Look at either genuine or ngk.
Testing is easy. remove glow plug and hook up to 12v and see if they glow red hot if not replace

My 3ltr was not starting first hit and thought it was injectors etc, with the cold weather
the problem showed up this morning did not start at all, had to jump off the AUX battery.
The cold weather will show up any battery that's on the way out.
04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there

glow plugs is the issue, spend decent money & buy quality, there are many many cheap rubbish ones out there, $60 plus each will fix the problem, cheaper versions will eventually play up, ring Berrima Diesel for recommendations on brands

Might also need to check your battery out.
