    Ignition coils

    Hi all

Is there a difference with ignition coils on the tb42s and tb42e models? Looking at them on eBay and the ones suited to a tb42e(which I'm after) appear to have a plug like socket, where as the tb42s coils only have terminal connections. Now my problem is the coil in my car appears to be an aftermarket unit with the terminal connections and the plug connector is long gone(I'm assuming).
Can someone shed some light on this by taking a picture of their setup on their tb42e?

This is the coil suited to a tb42e

Looks a lot different to the one for my TB42s. Is it possible that there are a few different shapes for different brands but they are still suited to your engine?

I have 2 efi gq's and they both run that coil pictured. .....

The S uses the cylindrical type one.

Thanks all. I wasn't sure if it was right due to the fact that it's a Bosch unit with what looks like extensions on the leads. But all good by the sounds of it.

Thanks pezzer, great picture. I can see what colour wires go where which helps a lot if I ever buy a coil with that plug.

    mmmmmmmmmmm

My car is at the smash repairers so can't check it until Saturday

I'm pretty sure my EFI has the one pictured in your link

Your current one doesn't look to be original and buy the look of those wires you definitely have an aftermarket one which didn't have the plug fitting so they just cut the wires and made up what they needed.
Time is never wasted when your wasted all the time
