I do some times but then I get sick of putting them back then taking them off again.. But that's why I want to get the quick release one I posted earlier it literally takes 2 seconds to put on and remove with no tools.

I use occy straps to hold mine to roof rack, or sit them along side passenger seat slid into the rear Jesus handle..

another thing I have on mine is heat shrink on the U bolts and some no slip mat glued to the back of the holder , can't be scratching the bar , I must get a photo on the next boys taylor trip , 4 blokes and 8rods all on the bull bar , gotta have spare no time to re rig in a hot session !
If ya not using it buy a prius .....
