This bad boy got delivered today, a beast of a blade and its 6mm across the spine with nice weight to it, will make a great bush knife

    Hey guys,

Haven't stuck my head into this thread in a while.

I've found a new project for when my automotive repair list is complete:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71s6HpuG_hQ

It's pretty basic but it looks like a fun/easy way to dip my toe into knifemaking.

I reckon I'll just work with bits of leaf spring to begin with, seems easiest, cheapest and most readily available.

Hey Irish. A better setup is a bucket clay forge. Will last much longer than that thin tray.
    I'll try find a link

I have a 1880 forge with the Buffalo hand blower ,but have never used it , thinking of selling it.
Those Nepalise Kurkri knives are made from car springs

That little cut out is suppose to be a cows teat to remind the owner to never kill a cow.
You'll need a decent anvil to. might be cheaper to buy blanks just saying.
I have heaps of blacksmithing gear, just brought a 63mm flatter hammer last week.
I also have a huge 60kg blacksmith leg vice absolute horse

EDIT::: hers my 63mm flatter hammer, I wont be fitting a wooden handle instead
I'll be using some 6-8mm steel rod
