The general purpose knife has been thrashed and is all we use on scalping foxes and skinning rabbits and Matty likes is so much he got his own lol. I'm yet to use the skinner but I'll be getting onto some pigs in the near future so ill let you know how that goes.

Mate all you need is 3 knifes from my limited experience, that kit will process foxes, rabbits, pigs and deer but you'll need a quality hunting knife around 7 to 7.5" to throat/slaughter and hack what you need to. 1427265341563.jpg a testament ti Coldsteel and the quality of blades my leatherneck has quartered roughly 300kg worth of drumsticks and plus last weekend I used it to process a few lambs and hit the bone quite oftenly and it stayed sharp. Actually after the first outing with only the factory edge it made a few fan boys and was put on a couple of wishlists instantly haha

I also have the Anaconda field dress kit which works well and has a bone saw with as well.
Alitis has it pretty well that having just the 1 knife may limit you in what you need to do.
Am having issues loading pics at the moment but will keep trying to loadcup the MTech for you

All I have used in the past, to process all my animals is the old man's boning knife, an M16 bayonet and a fist. As long as your knives are sharp, good quality steel, you can pretty much use anything.
Alitis and OD have it right, in that you only need a few good functioning blades.... The rest is just because I can!

Keep an eye on Fleabay and you can get some cheap knives, some I have only paid 99c for a fixed blade.
Maybe try snag a couple of those and see what you think of them, you can always sell them off for more if you don't like them.

How does that sharpening kit hold up. I've seen them advertised in a few shooting mags.

I have the Smith's version of the Lansky's kit and it is great, nice, clean and sharp. The Smith's kit is also cheaper than the Lansky's and I am yet to check but I believe the bench vice for it is compatible.

I was gifted with a big package so can afford to lose a little...
@ mjr350... I have the Lansky set as well. Very nice but as OD said, the Smiths set is cheaper.
