I have the Tactical branded field dressing kit which for a cheap set is pretty good fir skinning etc, may be an option to look at. The BG knife is only approx 6" in total size which is pretty handy with it's range if movement, no good for boning though. I will try find a link to dressing kit that has changeable blades and is a lockback knife so it makes it a small size to carry and store. From memory it is made by Elk Ridge. Still waiting on the stamps etc coming from NSW, post is getting slower and slower. Sent from my iPhone using Motorculture mobile app
Cheers mate if you could find it, that'd be awesome. I'm just starting my kit atm on a few goats and the DR knifes are a bit big at around 5 & 6" but they're give me room to play with if we decide to slaughter some pigs. I was looking at a few folding knifes just as a pocket knife when i'm fishing and what not so thats why i was asking about the BG knife.
@ George you can come and play with my knives first before you decide whats best for you ,I have stacks of them;
Link is to an Elk ridge folder with gut hook and saw, but like GKO, OD and my self you might be better off assembling
your hunting gear bit by bit
I'll have a look at it when i get home but thanks for the offer John. Its not for hunting, a customer of mine has a hobby farm and we're buying some livestock to fill our fridges with. I've got a cousin who migrated here recently and my family cones from a farming background he knows what he needs to use so with his guidance i should be able to work it out. The DR kit is just a beginning if you know what i mean
Sounds good the small pocket can house some spare batteries and one of my Ultrafire torches in the main pocket.
I'll need to get it in ACU to match that vest I got, what does ACU stand for please. Also PM me your address and I'll post those skins for nada zilch
I have no way to make anything unless I call on my mate with his K6 singer but a bit big I think.
04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there
It is a really great set but you can pretty much start out with any sharp blade. All I use, for the most part, is my M16 bayonet.... Processed alot of animals with it. I am a fan of the Green River knives too... My old man was a Freezing worker for years and I inherited several of his old knives...

ACU has different meanings, army combat uniform, army cadet uniform, alternate camouflage uniform etc.
That myth combo is a great kit, I have the field myth sharpener and it rocks

Silly question time, that hook on top of the wider knife ( the skinner??) is that to teat the skin ?? I ordered a couple of folding pocket knifes today and one of them had something similar on the back of the handle
