    Westy's 3rd draw build.....

Well. Time again for another build.
Taking what I leart from the first build, some changes I dreamt, and some creative thinking, I believe this will be my best one yet.
So, being the dual cab, I have good depth, 1440 to be exact, so I'm only doing a single draw this time and a full-length slide.
Slide side is on 227kg steel carriages.
The draw is only 1200 deep, leaving a bit of room for a battery and charger.
My main crazy plan I wanted in draw system 1 but never got to it.
Under the slide will be a laminated pull out bench/table, that can be fully removed and used as a small table for dinner..
Plan is 40L tank under the tub with a small 12v pump to a facet in there somewhere..
And will carry drinking water in the tray.
Anyway, more pics will follow as it progresses.
    Cheers

Righto a bit of an update.
The basics are in. We had a quick beach day trip planned so though bugger it let's go.
Painted all exposed surfaces black and layer the carpet..
I had one minor oversight and that's made the slide top longer than the handle.. so I will need to notch the front to allow the grab handle to work properly..

So draw is on nylon runners.
I will add a 3rd strip in to help support the base when loaded.
I still need to add a divider in to the draw for a cutlery tray and paint the inside white.

And then I still need to finish the removable table but have picked up an old card table to "borrow" the legs from..

But overall I'm happy with the fit and size. It's tight front to back so no movement.
    Nothing can fall behind.
I'm still debating about a wing to fill between the draw and tub side.. but that's a later issue.. haha

Well I've finally assembled the table section of the draws.
I've dismantled a card table and modified the legs to suit. Not 100% happy but we'll give it a test.
A card tables legs all fold 1 way... mine fold apposite so I had to mod 2 of the legs which means the support latch is backwards.. no big deal, just have to be aware of it when folding down..
Now to decide if I laminate the top, or clear coat it...

Way tooo much weight atop of any old school bullet proooof chassis let alone newage zippy’s.
I mean no disrespect but are not planning on carting ‘unfortunate’ chassis welding sticks on our upcoming dessseert crossing

These are actually lighter than steel built draws.
And the new rangers have a gvm of 3.3t. As it stits full of fuel, tools and me in it, it's 2.7t.
I'm confident I'll be crossing within the stock GVM.
