GU RD28i Alternator

Hi, just about over this patrol. The battery is not charging, put a aftermarket Voltmeter on today so I can monitor the charge voltage at it sits around 12 Volts. The charge light isn't coming on but defiantly not charging. I suspect the brushes in the alternator are worn out.

Is it possible to change the brushes in the alternator of an RD28 with out pulling the alternator out? On some falcons they are have a carrier for the brushes that can be removed with out disasembling the alternator.
