    Auxiliary Tank

Hi. Just wondered if there is an easy way to check if aux tank is working. On start up the dash light comes on. Put when running if if I press the dash button for aux tank no light comes on.

    Cheers.

If you are new to patrols the sub tank transfers to the mAIN tank once main tank is 3/4 full r less. So once your main tank is less than 3/4 press your sub tank button light will be on and watch sub go down and main go up

Aha yeah that's new. It ad me stumped too with the sub tank. If the sub tank light in your dash comes and stays on that means there is a fault with te sub tank. Also in diesel meds every time you start up it will transfer for 10 to 20 seconds so don't freak out if the sub goes dwn without touching the button

Ok so with standard tanks at 110km/hr what a realistic range / consumption with the pod loaded. I've hit the button and the sub tank seems to be going down faster than the main is going up if that makes sense.

    Cheers

    Marty.

I am pretty sure that the main tank is larger than the sub tank, which makes it look like the gauge isn't moving far.

What size tanks do you have in your Telstra Ute?
Is your main tank full at the moment? ( That may explain why no fuel transfer, but the light should still work ... )

Cuppa has an ex-Telstra Ute, and he may be able to shed some light on what his has as standard.

Not sure of tank size yet for main. But got 80 in sub when gauge was empty.

I pressed sub button when main at 3/4 tank now sub nearly half tank and main nearly half way between 3/4 and full. And have only done 210km since filling both. Light load in pod and 40 km city running around then on highway 100-110 km/hr. seems like a lot of fuel ImageUploadedByMotorculture1374881305.370176.jpg

    Marty,

From standard main is 95 Litres, and sub is 80 Litres for the ute only.

Should use somewhere around the 14 - 15 Litres per hundred on the highway, so theoretically, you should see over 1200 K's from both your tanks .....
