Lightbulb GQ conversion to an infinity v8 ?

    Hi,
I was looking at doing a v8 conversion as my old girl has finally had enough of her current engine and the rebuild costs made me start looking at repowering to a v8 - I followed some threads from a while back and found that Perth 4wd had done a conversion to a vh45 infinity motor - rang them but the new owner wasn't exactly friendly even though I asked if he could locate the motor - does anyone know if the bell housing bolts match for an auto transmission and have there been easy and successful conversions.
    Cheers all
    Sean

The less you have to change, the easier it is.
The infinity uses the same auto transmission as a patrol. As far as I know they bolt straight on. There was a GQ shorty at a mechanics I was looking at a while ago, it had original auto transmission and an infinity vh45. I actually saw it pop up for sale recently.

Thanks threedogs - priced up marks for a 350 conversion plate and engine mounts $1400 - the LS1 I think is around $2200

Quite a reasonable cost then isnt it! LS1 would be an awesome conversion.
