Oil pressure light on, gauge seems ok

Need some advice on oil pressure senders /gauge on my gq. I was out for a drive with my kids on Saturday and we ended up going through a few puddles as you do , nothing too hectic but any way, on Sunday arvo I noticed my oil pressure light was on, stopped and checked level, was down a little so topped up to full mark to be sure but this made no difference to light even though the original gauge is reading where it always has, between 3 and 4 kg/cm2 while at revs so I am presuming this is normal? My main question is this, is it likely water got into the sender causing the light to come on or is it more likely just coincidence and the sender has died, does the td 42 have individual senders for the light and gauge? Thanks in advance for any advice offered
    Cheers Phil

Sounds like the senders stuffed............ can't offer any more words of wisdom than that I'm afraid.
