    Certainly do for ADF service.

Mine show length of service, decorations and awards, promotions, unit postings and duties.
The full records held by the ADF archives would run at 1,000's of pages per dude on average.
I can still get copies of medical and service records that are over 40 years when I need them.

For service with foriegn Military Forces as a citizen of other countries ASIO would be your best bet :-)

Dad never spoke about the war , he was stationed up Darwin during the bombing as a radio operator.
He may of been one of the first to relay any message of the japs coming, we'll never know.
I have a copy of all his service records from joining the Army to switching to the RAF later on.
Plus finally I have two sets of his service medals Normal size and a second set of minitures
if that sounds right. All Ive add is a rising sun brass badge for 100 yrs since Anzac cove landing

I may march this year but I feel a bit funny about doing it, it may be too overwhelming for me

    Bit of info for ya...

When a decoration or campaign medal is issued there should be (in vast majority of cases) a Full Size Dress Medal, a Miniature Mess (or Evening) Medal and a Uniform Ribbon.
It is perfectly acceptable to get and wear replicas of originals as long as you are entitled to do so.
My originals are mounted but kept locked away and I wear replicas for parades or official functions.
Originals will have the name and service number of the recipient engraved on them on the side and stars etc on the obverse usually
Duplicates (an official replacement struck and issued to a lost medal) will have a 'D' engraved on them in addition to the Name and Number
Replicas will usually not match originals under close examination and can be purchased by pretty much anyone.

One of my good mates lives next door to this crazy old bugger in his 80's, served in ww2.

He was an engineer at one point(not sure if during or post war) has a shed full of oldskool engineering gear.
My mate gave him a book on tuning Japanese I4 engines and he used it to hot up his proton GTI(mitsubishi engine).
He made a fully custom cold air intake, stripped, blueprinted, port & polished the engine, has even stripped the spare, back seats, toolkit etc out of it to save weight.
He copped a massive fine recently for something like 127 in a 100, hahaha.
He is a mad old bastard, has some amazing stories from back in the day.
