How long have you had it Col. Maybe $700 is good value for money, although unlucky. Like lens bouncing in a car park.

What should have been a simple head gasket swap isn't. Pulled the head to find out it is pitted and the #4 cylinder wall has been dented and scored. Time to find a new head and rebore the cylinders. Now it won't be ready for our planned trip on Monday.

1999 GU RD28Ti; mechanical injector pump, 5kBt Webasto circulation heater, 33" Yokohama Geolander I/T, SaaS boost & EGT gauges, 2" Ironman suspension...more to come

No doubt something got in the #4 cylinder and chewed it up. Trying to find a replacement head, but it's not too easy here.

After many emails its seems the insurance Co have excepted the decision of the OT about my replacement seat.
Even though he his report was wrong the insurance Co have excepted it. I requested another OT to have a look and flattly refused
saying the original report was ok. Seems they can rip you a new one any time they like and not bat an eyelid, I have no funds to take the matter to court
Maybe Ill get ACA onto it. f'ing fuming big time Ill be giving the OT guy a mouthfull when he picks up his Mattress topper GRrrrrrrrrrr
