I had it under cold water straight away for about 5 mins and the pain was getting to the point of being unbearable and straight onto ice packs for the next 4 hours. I kept melting the ice packs and was swapping them every hour or so. I did the normal icing procedure of on,off,on,off but I couldn't hack the pain of the burn with no ice pack for a couple of minutes. I literally slept with an ice pack wrapped around my finger.
