Was cooking schnitzels and slipped out of the tongs before it was in the pan properly splashing oil onto my finger, aching pain for 3-4 hrs, blistered up a little.
Put a thick band aid on it, to protect it a little at work, all good.
Took the band aid off and all the skin came off with it.
Ouch.

Thats what I do and it nearly always works even on bad burns....

Unless things have changed, thought you were supposed to treat burns in a bowl of cold water, not under a running tap?

I had it under cold water straight away for about 5 mins and the pain was getting to the point of being unbearable and straight onto ice packs for the next 4 hours. I kept melting the ice packs and was swapping them every hour or so. I did the normal icing procedure of on,off,on,off but I couldn't hack the pain of the burn with no ice pack for a couple of minutes. I literally slept with an ice pack wrapped around my finger.
