When you say "wired to your spotlight wiring" do you mean they share a common positive connection (probably not a problem)? Or do you mean the UHF only works when the spotlights are on (probably not ideal...)?
What suburb are you in? Feel free to start a thread with any relevant photos or wire colours used. Shouldn't be too hard to figure out.

Yes both positive and negative are shared ATM.
The UHF wires are sliced into the spotties.

If they are, then it's fine for both the spotties and UHF to share a power source.
If they're not, they should be regardless of the UHF wiring).

I think the uhf is tapped in before the relay.
