I did it a few years ago. I was stuck in the city for two days and never got selected. Bored sh!tless the whole time. And they paid me a massive $50 a day! I recently was selected for it again, I only got the acceptance letter yesterday for my please excuse me application I wrote for my Jury duty in September.
Awesome. No Jury Duty for me!!!

I must draw the short straw then, been called up at least five times and selected twice. Both were horrendous cases, one was abandoned after five days. The last one went the distance and the whole jury were exempted from further jury duty for about seven years I think.
Happy to have done my duty but can be confronting depending on the case.
Cheers

I got selected 28 August last year and made it all the way up to the Court got a spot in the jury section. We all got I told beforehand it was gonna be an extremely long case up to 3 months. Melbourne or Australia's biggest drug bust about 10 years ago.
Loved every minute of it. Ended up finishing a few days after cup day. Would I do it again yep, for sure.
Must cases are no more than 5 days.

The payment is what I do not understand, if you get paid less than your job would pay how can anybody be expected to keep up with bills & Mortgage?
My daughter was selected last year 2 days after she got a new job, she told her new employer and 2 days later was told they no longer had a job for her but said it was nothing to do with the jury duty, no way to prove otherwise so it cost her a job.
