I read a thing that Telstra is doubling their data packages... how did you find out? I looked on my Telstra account last night and it has not changed.

Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.

Mine is now 500 Gig but you could prev double your monthly limit 3 times a year for no extra cost anyway.
The double up is to reduce erosion of customer base to iiNet or Optus for netflix.
Netflix on Bigpond will still be metered (unlike iiNet/Optus) but by doubling the monthly data limit a lot of people won't care about useage.
People who want cheap internet have already bailed from Bigpond ages ago anyway and most Bigpond custs are usually bundlers who won't switch if they don't need too.
Does make you wonder how cheap the cost of data would be if it was even more competitive (or how much we were gouged in the past).
A few ISP's are offering unlimited data for not much at all

Soooo....
I had an irritating 'couple of drops a day on the driveway' power steering fluid leak I'd been putting off fixing for aaaages
Went to change the power steering pump 'cause I thought it was leaking.
Brunny Diesel had expressed me up a replacement and told me it was an easy peasy job.
It probably is if you don't have onboard air.
Anyway... once all attempts at further procrastination proved fruitless I armed myself with jacks, axle stands, drain pans etc etc to get stuck in.
So, applying my years of experience which has taught me always do the hardest connection/bolt/stud first I took off the rubber flap in the LH guard to get at the connection for the fluid supply hose to the Pump from the remote Res.
It should be noted this connection is slightly harder to get at than the #3 Main Bearing with the sump still on.
Lo and Behold, loose jubilee clamp.
Tightened the clamp, stopped the fluid leak, Brunny gave me a full refund on the pump... Good as Gold

I didn't do anything. I reckon it'll happen soon by the sound of the other comments.

I reckon a lot of telstra customers are in the same situation as me.
-very few other providers reach my area.
-It's classified as "rural" even though it's very close to "suburban" areas meaning that all the cool cheap deals you see on tv are not applicable.
I investigated the options I had before signing up with telstra and although telstra appeared worse on face value, it was far better and cheaper than the few other providers that I could use.

I was similar except Telstra were the only company supplying adsl2 to our town. So I had no choice.
