G'day John, would be surely not the same around here without you mate so I hope you can recoup and come back.
For the unanswered thread issue. It happens on all forums, a lot of people simply do not know the answer and with the likes of some very knowledgeable members in their specific areas we have on here they miss posts of course and it gets pushed down the line.
Now that we have the new software here I can also look into a dedicated "non answered posts" link where members can click on to see all of the unanswered threads to see if they can help out.
I've been wanting to do this for years but was limited by the outdated software but leave it with me and I'll see if I can get it happening.

Fark yeah, is it covering shift or service, install and repairs, some of factories I have covered have some pretty trick hydraulics and control pack with technology, you'll even like the electrical control behind it, particularly when it comes to proportional valves and what ever process the control to exacting tolerances

I'm of the opinion it's better to leave a thread unanswered if you don't know the answer. Wait for someone more knowledgeable than yourself to answer rather than post a heap of crap (sometimes multiple posts).
Nothing wrong with letting them know someone will be along soon. AB I do like the idea of the dedicated unanswered thread view, not much worse than being ignored except for maybe feed bull5hit info.

X2 to a point. I read a lot.. Probably dribble more But I do read.
I try to pass on Info I read coz let's face it we all haven't had every Nissan variation around.
Sometimes I'm wrong and corrected, but only On non important things like diff ratios.. I'd never reply on a matter witch could turn bad, ie brakes..
I try and find relating threads, and Andy I most of the time have better luck finding it via Google than the np site. Thus said haven't had much to do with the upgraded site..
Forums are about sharing Info, experiences and stories. And yes sometimes we all draw blanks and can't hit that nail.
But sometimes the smallest detail can assist someone with an issue..

Happy to be home, seeing the wife and the little one after a big night in near the fires. Happy to still have a house standing, unlike some people out there at the moment...
