..........
Loveday cured me of my desire to play in bog holes.
After 20 minutes play I spent about 5 Hrs removing and fixing the alternator and cleaning the radiator so I could drive home.

Very much agree with Bloodyaussie on this one. It's a can of worms topic amongst my mates and workmates who are into 4x4-ing. Bogholes always start an argument. Very sensitive topic.
If it can be avoided, avoid it!!!
I know several blokes who own 4x4s and 4x4 utes, who cannot wait till the weekend strikes, so they can head up to mount dissa, toolangi wombat etc, purely for search for deepest dirtiest bogholes they can find. Call me stupid, arrogant, silly whatever you want... But I cannot for the life of me understand what is so fun about pushing your 4x4 you sunk your $$$ into, through a mass of water littered with god knows what... over and over again. Fair enough if you're heading to a camp site, touring and bogholes are a part of the track and unavoidable, then it's a 4x4 challenge to get through and/or recover.
Go to youtube and type in toolangi 4x4, dissapointment 4x4 etc... 99% of videos are blokes going through bogs over and over again just dredging them deeper. That to me is not 4x4-ing. It's more so to show whos dick and wallet is thicker... It's also giving an excuse to those greenies and parks vic. for locking gates all over the joint, for that very reason. And this in turn also keeps the people are more responsible out as well.
And then, As Bloody found, there is the damage to the car. That ship gets into places you'd never thought possible and gently and slowly buttf**** your cars components until it's game over.
Hope you sort your issues out Bloody!
