    Cuppa
Because a GUIV has the current shape large moulded flares and it would look like Junk!

Options are up to Neg 6 without trouble

Going by your avatar alone Cuppa you have a Coil cab GUIII DX without any factory flares running split rims.

You could fit flexi flares onto your guards mate but it would look crap if you had factory flares as well.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.
WARNING: Towballs used for recoveries can, and do kill people and damage property.

    Thanks MR,
Coil/leaf DX. No flares at all. You have reassured me. I will have to fit flares of some sort on the front when I get the new rims & wheels (rear will be ok) & the price of factory/fibreglass aftermarket ones is seriously crazy. Flexi's won't look as good but would be far more practical & affordable.
I have seen one pair of factory flares at a relatively reasonable cost however & have made enquiries because the seller commented "DOES NOT EASILY SUIT VEHICLES WITH BULL BARS!!! PLEASE ASK FOR INFO!!!" Not sure if this means they need to be cut or what.

Can't imagine what he is talking about??

Maybe he is confused with Brush bars down the sides? Even then you should have no trouble. Flexi flares look pretty good on a DX actually. I think Healy has flexes on his white one? Check his build thread.

The earlier GU's have wider flares than the later ones and the neg13 16x8's with 33's on them that i tried the other day sat nicely, just on the edge actually but still under.
