RD28T Dropped valve
hi guys
Anyone have any ideas why i might have dropped a inlet valve on my RD28t. is it a common fault or am i just unlucky. it destroyed the head and piston. Also does anyone know where i might get a AMC head around melbourne. just thought of one more question I had a stuffed pvc valve which pressurised the crankcase and made the turbo leak oil and it blue a lot of blue smoke out of the exhaust. A new valve from nissan was $299.00 so i pulled it out and put in a piece of pipe great no smoke and no more oil leak. Question do you think this would cause any damage to the engine.
Regards Bob

hi Rob
i bought the car as a unrepairable write-off to get the engine as mine had detonated in the head and destroyed it. It was built on the 6/97. The engine had been rebuilt not long before I bought it it had a brand new AMC head on it and when i pulled it off there were still honing marks on the cylinders. I am not sure what you mean by a turbo spec motor if it means did it come with a turbo as standard yes it did.
