GQ mudflaps don't comply.
I have a problem with the engineering of my car, turns out the factory rear mudflaps do not fully cover the factory 8" sunraysia wheels with 10.5 x 31 x 15 tyres and won't pass. I got some flat style mudflaps from SCA but with the flares I cant see how I can make it look presentable and meet the RTA's requirements.
Don't really want to cut the flares or go thinner wheels.
Appreciate any advise or pictures of what people have done or purchased.

Dribble Master
Youre mudflaps must be the narrower version, here's mine nicely covering up me 33x12.5s on 8" rims uploadfromtaptalk1365677749661.jpg
Does it need to look presentable to pass?
I think growlers has got some CAT mud flaps on his. I've got some cut up conveyor belt rubber to chuck on mine when I replace my flares.
Don't stroke it, TAP it!!!!.....

Mud flap has a distance from the ground. I think 300mm for off road vehicles
I'd screw some extra rubber to the side of the flap to please RTA

Fit something up temporarily for RTA then remove once inspected. Does not have to look good just needs to comply.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

It does sound like you have the DX Style Mudflaps, which were/are a lot thinner than the ST Versions.
Do you have the factory flares?...
If so, you might have to scour E-Bay for some new factory ST Style MudFlaps to suit.
If not, and you have added garden edging or aftermarket flares, then just get a piece of hard rubberized material, and cut it out to shape and fix.
That will get you passed, and look OK too.

X2 with standard mud flap..
If you want to look good with factory mud flaps to suit factory flares your looking at $100 a corner.. minimum..

A bit of tyre black will hide the Nissan logo.
Bloke on eBay selling a used set for $50.. they'll get you threw..
Are you any good with a welder? Make a clamp onto the chassis bar to mount some mud flap rubber to,

Wouldn't be buying OE mudflaps ,just one front costs $125 from Mr Nissan
Thats for a GU. I'd be cutting some ute liner anything to pass RTA inspection.
Mavs must have come out with the option of a wide wide pack like a lot of the early GQs
Doubt the 15x8 rims are factory as well. normally 31-15r would be mounted on 7" rims
04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there

I honestly don't think wide wheel package was an option.
Only $100 a corner on eBay for the Q..
How urgent do you need them?
