    MQ power steering install.

I have a nissan patrol MQ 82(round lights), 4 speed, non turbo, diesel 3.3l, 24v system
i know this model came with both manual and power steering options but unfortunately mine was one with manual steer. i am not sure of the complexity of fitting a power steering unit to this vehicle and was basically wondering what is required parts wise.

I have access to a 2nd hand MQ power steering unit for cheap.

how easy is it to install including mounting etc and what parts do i need and what needs to be replaced etc?

    any feedback would be great

    Cheers
    Chris

    Its been done.

You will need all the steering bits from the donor vehicle is the donor a diesil as well as the bracket is differant between the l28 and diesel.

    Box, Pump hoses etc

I have the entire power steering unit from a diesel 24v MQ SD33 (same as mine) including steering box, pump, reservoir, pulley, arm and bolts (bolts seem to be equally spread on either boxes).

will it be as simple as replacing the manual steering box with the power steering box, replacing the old arm with the one that came with the power steering unit and then finding somewhere to mount the pump/reservoir/pulley then installing the belt???

any suggestions or photos of where to mount the pump/pulley exactly??

    Sorry for the late response.

From what I have read it is a simple swap over mod - don't for get to grab the steering arm as well
