The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

Gave the front bar a quick sand/clean/respray. Looks much nicer. Will do the rear bar in the same colour.

Installer new rda slotted /dimpled rotors on the rear as well as new pads. There's a little overspray on the disk but a 5 min drive fixed that.

New zorst ready to go in. Pic only shows some of the pipes, others are scattered around the shed. Hopefully will be fitting on the weekend. Anyone ever done such a job? Any pointers are welcome!

Seems to be a common thing on the gq's, I've seen them on a few members rides.
Appears the same on the othersise also. Possibly how they've manufactured the chassis.

that good I have them on mine. I cant find any cracks and at one point was going to do a magnetic particle test in that area, but the unit are $1100 and none of my boilermaking mates have one.

I wouldn't bother. It might have been added as a means of strengthening that section, I'm not really sure. But every gq I've seen has the exact same markings, showing that it's consistent. Hard to have consistent stress lines on a multitude of gq's.
