    HELP, what can it be

One for the gurus, and that certainly ain't me.
Last week or so when I hit a decent bump, have noticed oil light flickering and on the weekend my sub tank light came on with 1/4 tank left.
Today I jumped in the car after work and kicked the ol girl over, sounded like she was struggling a bit, Didn't fire and on 2nd attempt nothing at all, no dash lights no nothing, had a look and a play with the fuses and what ever looked electrical and noticed a clicking and buzzing coming from some blue relay looking thingy in the fuse compartment (top left) in car, pulled it out, put it back(looked fine) played with a few more wires under the bonnet. And still nothing. Played with the key a bit and radio came on, tried a few more times and away she went. Drive home and switched Trol off and then tried to start again and nothing.
Now I'm a bit of a dumb azz when it comes to electrics, so heading outside to clean terminals etc, so what else to look for is beyond me, so any ideas from anyone would be appreciated.
    Wish me luck lol

    Cheers Pete

    HELP, what can it be

Try pulling off the ignition switch on the back of the ignition barrel and have a play with it, it could have become loose with age.

I had a crack in a terminal clamp on my Aux battery that caused a big voltage drop, battery was fully charged but dropped 2v through terminal clamp connection.
Check battery clamps and earth connections.

Start by removing both battery terminals and give them a good clean.

Also check the main earth lead thats runs from the negative post of the battery down to the inner guard and engine. Make sure it's not corroded or broken.

    HELP, what can it be

Fingers crossed guys, thanks for the advice, as said am a dumb azz with electrics.
Pulled off batt term's and gave good clean and spray, and all elec connections, checked ignition connection but ok.
Batt was a bit dry so topped up and put on charge for an hour while doing other bits, needs longer but time not on my side, will get back to that, by the way do I need to disconnect batt to charge, did so but as it still needs charge ?? Do I need to disconnect again. Would be really good if I didn't have to, light and elements as well as location does help me ATM
Anyway tried the ol girl and she fired straight away, tried several times with a break in between and so far all good.
Big test will be cold start at 4am tomorrow. Thanks again guys, much appreciated.
TD I don't have jail house keys mate, only 1/2 d, not a lot of weight if that's what your thoughts were??

    Cheers
