turbo kit price?
Hey all im hopefully just about to buy a turbo kit for my 4.2 diesel gq. The kit i'm looking at getting is a denco kit fron opposote lock. Price is $4400 installed including a 3inch exhaust. Does this seem a reasonable price for the kit?

Sounds good, I work in spares and priced a turbo kit for a TD42 and my wholesale price was just on $5000 with GST and freight.

I asked for a price with a egt, boost and pyro gauge and brought it up to $5300. So $900 for gauges. Surely they arnt that expensive if so it puts it out of my price range as i'm not to keen driving it without them, dont want it to go boom.

I wouldnt have thought so. Get them to add the egt sensor point on the exhaust and the rest can be done pretty simply.

turbo kit price?
Depends how handy you are on the tools. If you are keen to install the kit yourself then it may work out cheaper to put the kit together yourself.
$900 extra for gauges seems extreme. EGT gauge and pyro (pyrometer) are the same thing.
Decent brand pyro will be around $100-$150
And $60-$80 for a boost gauge. Plus fitting obviously.
Where are you located?

How safe is it going to be to fit the turbo up leave the boost anf fuel alone and drive it over easter. When i get back i can then get gauges myself and tuned properly.
