Finally done it - now I need your help
Hey everyone,
Well - after smoking for the last 20 years I have finally felt the urge to quit. I did quit for about 5 years in the middle there but this time I am done for good.
The only thing I need is if I feel like I'm weakening I'll post it and hopefully someone will kick me in the butt to keep my stuff together!
Be interesting to see how it goes! (Gone cold turkey!!).
Jas

SUCH IS LIFE
Best of luck mate, its a bloody filthy habit and hard to quit. I have for lengths of time but seem to come back to it, mainly because of grog and because I enjoy it.
Mind you I only smoke when I drink so I can go without if I'm of the pizz
Mind over matter mate, all the best

Well done, Jas,
now put the smokes money in a special account. I did, and over the years I have paid for a fishing trip to Exmouth, Almost paid cash for a secondhand family wagon, and also helped put some money toward the deposit on the house.
My advice is: not to follow my advice.

Excellent stuff Jas. it's pretty obvious from the way you constructed your post that you DO mean it.
By the time you reach tomorrow you will have achieved 24 hours smoke free. What a waste of effort that would have been if you then weakened. Same after 2 days, 3 days, a week, a month etc etc. Well we all have things that have more or less meaning for us as individuals, but it was this unwillingness (stubbornness?) to 'waste' the effort I'd put in that helped me to stay strong. Whatever it takes...stay strong, you won't regret it.
