I am through a broker cost 1k includes 3k for camping gear, hire car, windscreen etc etc, but covers you absolutely any where none of this gazetted road crap, as I do a fair bit of camping/4wding on farms/private property most insurance company's will not cover you if there policy mentions gazetted roads etc.
I have been stung by nrma and would not touch them with a ten foot pole.
Cheap insurance is great if it covers how and where you use your vehicle and the mods that you have done its worth reading the fine print.

I am with Shannon's, i have insured other cars with them before and had to make two claims (neither was my fault and hopefully I don't have to make any more claims in the future!), and they were really good to deal with both times. Their premiums are comparable to other quotes I got, and they cover me for the agreed value of my truck and accessories. (Even my fridge since it's fixed in the vehicle).
The cover was explained to me by their rep quite simply. He told me to think of it this way, if I haven't paid to be there, (like a competition), and I am legally allowed to be there (not trespassing etc), then I am covered. Way better than the old gazetted roads only cover I had previously. Just my opinion...
93 GQ wagon, RB30, extractors, 2 inch tough dog lift, 5 spd, A/T KO2 32's, steel winch bar, rated recovery points, red arc dual battery set up, rhino roof racks, UHF etc etc. Slow and steady might not win the race but it gets me there eventually...

Has any one tried the new mob Pat Callahan is pushing?????.
wanting to feel this out before I went any further!!
you add up the extras you have + Including the labor cost of them being replaced, along with all the other usual questions.
Just did a online quote, (no human interaction) their suggested market value of $26.700 on the 02 td42t with extras came just under $44k.
$101.40 mthly or $1100 yearly, excess $850.
its around the same price shannons want for far less cover & with a much shorter list of extras about $30k , and that includes a multi car discount.
it included hire car to a $ value. recovery gear think $1200 .choice of repairer few other bits I lost link/page some how!,( going by memory lol).
Don't know for sure, due to online as stated above if that covers off rd, but imagine so for gazetted, legally allowed, need to look into it further.
WHATS YOUR THOUGHTS PEOPLES.
