Re: Purchasing first MK patrol
It looks neat in the pics. if it's a genuine 146,000 ks then id say you've got years of trouble free motoring.
It looks like a steel bullbar and that's a real bonus.
Ask if it's got lpg as well.
If you can budget another $1000 or so in the future to put a 2" lift under it then id definitely go for it.
For the tyres, bullbar and the low ks alone id say it'd definitely worth the price. Offer 4000 and work up.
See you on the tracks:-)

If you are paying for a rear main seal to be replace you should be giving serious thought to putting a new clutch in it at the same time. The Gear box is coming out to get to the rear main and that will be the bulk of the cost.
Its a Nissan! =====> Its a Keeper!! ....... Got a TD42 in it BONUS!!
....... I'm a lucky bugger! I've got 2 of em!

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

Go coils over leaves everytime even if you need to wait a bit longer.
Seems Lucas has his eyes peeled for you, a 4x4 will come along
be patient. You'll be disappointed in leaves, not saying you cant
get them to flex but coil is way better
04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there

I went and had a look at GQ 1990, its dual fuel works on both petrol and LPG, took it for a drive it ran really well.
It has 2" lift and pretty much new 33" tyres. K's are genuine. I put a deposit down and am picking it up tomorrow. My mechanic quoted me 280 to fix the rear main seal if i supply the gasket, and yes mudrunner i rekon ill replace clutch too when the rear seal gets done.
Thanks for all the advice fellas, im glad I went the GQ rather than an older MK.
Will post pics soon.
