holes or not in dash?
I have need to mount the hand piece for my uhf in another spot now and would like to know if anyone has done it without screwing into the dash. Are there other ways to hold it in position?

Re: holes or not in dash?
I just use the heavy duty sticky backed Velcro for uneven surfaces from bunnings. It works well but do have to change the side that sticks onto the dash every couple of months because of the heat over here.
Don't stroke it, TAP it!!!!.....

I'm against drilling holes in the dash as I think if you go to sell the vehicle with holes in the dash then the resale value won't be as good as one without holes. Unless you intend to leave the UHF in there if you sell.
Find somewhere that has a bolt / screw hole already there and then make up a metal bracket that will hold the hand piece
Time is never wasted when your wasted all the time

Re: holes or not in dash?
For starters I suppose it depends where you've mounted the head unit and where the hand held bit will reach

Legendary
I have drilled my holes into a removable insert piece, like the Space for the Factory Diff Lock Switch.
For one, it doesn't look as bad when you come to sell it, and two, it should be cheap enough to buy the switch blank or pick one up from the wreckers.
