Now you have mentioned the other town I referred to. So we are between Boulia & Winton. Travelling from Boulia these hills are a short way before reaching this outback pub stuck in the middle of nowhere, all on it's own.
Not Chiltern Hills

Yup, that's the one.
For our round Oztrip, as you can imagine we had spent a long time thinking about where we wanted to go, but the decision to travel from Mt Isa to Winton via Boulia was one of those spur of the moment things, & one of the best decisions we made. It's a brilliant trip, all single lane bitumen, beautiful outback country (& characters) & was a real surprise to us (as all the best parts of travel always are). We camped at the showgrounds & got to know the caretaker/camel trainer quite well.
If anyone here ever gets to Boulia be sure to meet 'Dinosaur Dick' Suter. But make sure you have an hour or 3 to have your ears chewed, this is a man who has had one of the most interesting lives I ever had the privilege to hear about. Grew up in a circus, was an offshore smuggler & much much more. He now has one of the best collections of fossilised Plesiosaurs, including the only known pregnant example. We were in Boulia for a few days, & every time we mentioned to anyone that we had met Dick, without fail their first response was "Ee can talk can'tee"
Then there's the Min Min lights.
Back to you Megatexture.

Do you know the light sequence so we can break out our sea charts and sextants
and calculate where light house is. Only light house I've been to was on Deal island
in Bass Straight
