At times there are goods pictures available without going too far.
The big thing is finding the location setting up and waiting, taking lots of pictures and deleting the huge collection of duds.
Most of my pictures are sunsets, sunrise, animals/birds and scenery.
The following two sunset pictures were taken at my stables at Mullaquana SA, (south of Whyalla).
Great shots, When working on the Khan railway line early 80's every night and morning was like that for 18 months

Here's a sunset from my backdoor. It's not uncommon for us to be above the cloud level, but is quite unusual at that time of day. The chimneys you can see sticking up out of the cloud are from Loy Yang power station, & the columns of steam from their cooling towers, about 20kms by road away, but probably 10kms or less as the crow flies.
