The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

I was asking because I bought a second hand centre that I was going to use the plates out of but not sure if it is the h260 or the
    h233b centre.

260 is larger than than the 233. Parts aren't interchangable as far as I know.

I haven't pulled my centre out yet so I can't compare the size. Is there any way to measure or some other way of
Working out what centre it is. the centre has no crown wheel on it.

The 260 looks physically massive compared to a 233. A 233 will fall into the mounting of a 260 diff housing.

What patrol do you have Ute or wagon?
As far as I know the H260 only came out in the leaf sprung utes.

I know mine is a h233b but it is the centre that i bought that im not sure about.I know that the h260 is larger but i was hoping it was the crown wheel
that was the main difference and the internals were the same. Some of the posts are getting off the track, please read the first post as that is what I
    wanted to know.

    thanks from Dave

I'm pretty sure the internals are different. You could check the manual on here and see if part numbers are the same for the 2 centers.

Benno7 h260 were in leaf sprung utes but were also fitted to 3 liter gu manual wagons.
