job is done, ended up doing both ends of the pipe, exhaust end was a mongrel, tried undoing the nuts and the studs came out as well, made it hard to get them back in,had to unbolt the turbo brace to get studs back in.went for a quick drive, turbo starts to spool at about 1500rpm and full boost at about 1800rpm,boost preasure didnt change stayed at about 12psi,egt while cruising at 100kmh is definetly lower, not sure how much but the gauge(autron lcd)starts at 275.c and it doesnt move from that until the engine starts working harder(hills etc)used to sit on about 300/325.c,so thanks to everyone for your advice, cheers, wombat.
