Its a 4.5 on Petrol and Gas and those are the figures I get on Gas running around without a load.
Some people are like Slinkies… not much good for anything but, they bring a smile to your face when pushed down stairs.

The 4.5 is bigger, but newer, and I would have thought sub 20 on the open road would have been achievable ... I'm sure there's another 4.5 listed on here that's getting better than my 4.2 ... time to hunt!!

My 4.5 uses 18.5 L per 100 k's on a trip (LPG) and 22 Litres per 100 k's towing a Jayco Dove. These figures are for trips and not around town

Yes LPG gas, I am not old enough to call petrol gas
I will run a whole tank through next time and record the numbers I get as I have never had fuel consumption figures so low. This is new territory for me. I am used to having crappy fuel efficiency. I got 17L/100kms out of petrol last time i filled up. When I get my new O2 sensor I should get some better more accurate figures also.
They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time, it works every time.

TD42 Hi-Roof with a blower at 11psi on 33" tyres, recovery gear, second tank, front and rear bars steps etc, in other words heavy around town 13.5L per 100klms. Best i have ever recorded is 12.6 around town. Going away in a few weekends will do a highway run see what it gets. Never really tried to get good economy out of it just drive it.
Well we did 203 klms and it used 18L on the highway, tried it coming back and it was 203 klms and 20L but we hit some decent traffic coming back, aircon on both trips. Towed the camper weekend after that and recorded 550 klms out of 73L. Camper weighs a tad over 1000kgs.

Check posts #46 (page 5) and #95 (page 10).
Posts #50 and #64 show consumption figures for GU 2.8 - same engine but with intercooler and electrically controlled injector pump.
