    Resizing pics for the web.

    Here you go Andy.

I use Irfanview, you can download for free here:

    http://www.irfanview.com/main_download_engl.htm

First off, create a new folder on your hard drive, call it resized photos for example.

Open Irfanview and you will see this:

Click open and find the pic you want to resize

Double click the file and it will open

    Go to File. batch conversion/rename

Click your pic, click add and then click advanced. Tick the set long side button and set it to 1024, 1024 is ample for viewing on the web. You can have a play with saturation and stuff like that over on the right hand side,I do all that prior to resizing, the choice is yours. However, always add a little sharpening.

Bottom left it says ouput directory, click that and find the folder you created in step 1.Click ok and then start batch. Your original will stay where it is and your resized one will be in the new folder, resized and ready for the web.

The big bonus of doing this is that you can do 10,100 or 1000 at a time, saves a lot of messing about.

It does not matter how many meg they are, as we won`t be hosting them on this site.
It is now official, we are not quite so sh@t at cricket as we were! Rugby Union is a different matter.
