    Rear/side door window removal??

Quick question, How do you remove the windows from the L/H/R passenger door on a wagon?
I've got a door that needs a respray so I'm stripping it out first. I've had a search and checked the manual and come up with nothing.
I've unbolted the track and removed the track felt, now I'm stuck. I've done plenty of D40 Navara's and normally I'd pull out the track then the quarter window, but the GQ won't allow me to do so due to the mounting tags at the base of the track.
I can't see how you would pull out either window without removing the track first, but I can't see how to get the track out.

Hey mate, I read your post the other night but was on the iPhone and hoped someone else would sort you out. Apologies to you mate the membership normally does a bit better than that.

I have done it but it was about 5 years ago very late at night with the door off and being fully stripped for bare metal respray. I remember it was a bit of stuffing around but could not remember enough to give you advice sorry bud.

    What was the trick?

    Cheers MR

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

I had to put the window down enough to unbolt the glass then wind the regulator right down, then you put the glass all the way down (between the reg and the outer door skin) so it sits in the base of the door. Once you unbolt the track, you twist it 90-degrees then pull it up out of the door. Then the quarter window slides across and down to where the main window goes so you can pull the top of the window away from the top of the door, then just pull it up and out.
I have to change over the windows once the door is painted, so I'm hoping this technique won't scratch the tint against the regulator.

Followed this to replace my window on this door and for the life of me I couldn't work out how to remove the track.

Little sneaky screw on top of door underneath the seal.

Angle the bottom part of track to pop out window and just pull it straight out from top.

The 90 degree turn was not required, that part really confused me...

Fast forward 11 years and here I am, looking for instructions on how to remove the glass, to read it backwards to put mines back as I have not properly documented it when disassembling 5 years ago...

Regarding the sneaky screw, I knew about it because I had the track in my hands, but lost maybe one hour contemplating how on earth I would put a screw on it with the quarter glass in... only then I noticed the hole on the door frame is not threaded, LOL. The screw comes from the top down...

Also found this one here online (from which it is clearer that the 90º rotation refers to the track, in order to be able to pull it from the top).
