    thanks for the note.
Mine's the same as yours, that is a stock 2008 3l turbo. Had a 4.2 GQ for about 15 years and the new one is a bit of a shock. Like using the engine down through the gears to brake the car and/or van just doesn't have the same effect with the turbo belting along. Also the low rev grunt of the 4.2 worked brilliantly in rough stuff but this baby may need a whole new lot of learning.
Still, there's fish to catch and birds to photo so we'll get there.
    Good luck with ypurs.

Hi Col, interesting you say that because the 3L doesn't feel like the 1st 4 low is as low as I expected. I haven't got on the rocks yet so I may be wrong. I hope the 3L is able to idle along in first without stalling but we will see. In any case there will be plenty of learning going on for me too

Baileys, or should that be Major Tom?
Ta. Long time since I was in Coffs. Gotta be over 30 years at least. Quite possibly changed since then.
Still dream of taking the bike up to Dorrigo (and even further) from Coffs then down again then up again etc. etc. till I get so old I just fall off it and wake up on the same stretch of road in heaven.
    Again, thanks and good viewing

Have you got a manual throttle on yours? I did on the old td42(89 model) but not on this one. Was brilliant in particular areas and I think I'm really going to miss it on the 2008. Do agree though, low revs performance feels different. We'll see when it gets a good workout

Got a feeling "ICE T" is a term something quite a bit more modern than me. Like either spaced out, freaked out, blown out, drugged out, chilled out or rapped out.
Got the last one with a quick search, (Hell I hate 'Google' as a verb, it really really sucks I reckon). Anyway , didn't have a clue so had to cheat but tuff t*t.
Fact of the matter is the only 'ring to it' I know is the sore a**e you get after too long on the bike. Still without a bit of adrenaline you really aren't there anyway. Like they say, you're here for the good times not the long times.
    Hang in there
    Col
