    Tilting fridge slide project

This is something I built for the fridge years ago, had it on top of a set of drawers in the back of a ute. When it was tilted it sat on the tailgate, now it hangs in fresh air.

I have had to cable tie dividers in the fridge basket for obvious reasons....

It has a couple of large SS door hinges welded to the pivot point and bolted to the bench top.

I made a spring loaded pin that passes underneath and fits in a keeper bracket to stop it bouncing about also you can slide the fridge straight out, or by operating the pin the fridge will tilt.

The strut that limits travel has lost its gas so is only to relieve stress on the pivot point stopping it over rotating and damaging the seal on the door frame.

The tilt has worked fine for 5 years now and can not see it playing up now.

The fridge is getting a cage made from alum expanded mesh which stops stuff falling under the thing when its tilted.

I also fitted a small gas strut to the lid of the fridge to hold the lid open, makes life so much easier

Looking at building one of these sorta slides, my build will be similar to d&watson tilt slider.
any idea on strength of struts to use for a 40ltr fridge.
there's plenty on ebay but strength will be the tricky bit to work out!
