ZD30 turbo making noise????

hey guy,
i have a 07 zd30 common rail with a half fked turbo (makes a nice high pitch sound when its cold)... i am just wondering if i can fit another turbo on it at all that might be a bit more cheaper than 2300 dollars

Are you sure its not an exhaust leak? It is known that they warp manifolds and can give the same noise you describe. The reason the noise goes away once warm is all the parts have expanded and closed up the gap.

Have you pulled the intake from the turbo and checked for excessive play and end float in the shaft?

Put money on the warped manifold or leaking EGR.....

oh righto the noise only comes in on boost when its cold??? and when ya disconnet ya vacum line its stops??

I had to take the Turbo for maintenance as it was leaking some oil from the top Hose, and after that I can hear the same noise you describe above, does the Manifold has a Gasket?

yep mine 07 crd (ddti on com plate??) yep remove vac noise goes replaced turbo same noise .took it to a deisel spec straight up he said mani leak at number one ,machined flat all good .i did buy another turbo $800.00 good door stop !!!
