    Nissan roof cracks

I just got back from the guys repairing my roof cracks.
It seems that the rear is bronze welded to the roof and side panel.
The problem is the bronze has stopped short of reaching the end of the seam in the gutter corner.
In other words both sides have not been welded. Around 10mm long.
To make matters worse there is a double panel in the corner, this has let water in through the un welded seam and started to rust from the inside out. Caused by the roof rack forces on the gutter.
I have asked them to dose it with phosphoric acid by adding a few more blind holes above the work area allowing the acid to work its way around inside.
So the imported roof rack has shown up a weak spot in the building of the Patrol.
Just on that i cut all the pads off the rack and alined them last week.
From side to side both were out by 5mm dipping inwards. You can imagine the forces created on the gutter.
Those forces have traveled down the gutter to this un welded seam.
Thus opening it up into a crack and letting water in.
The damage done by the imported roof rack is going to cost me around $2500.00
That includes new powder coat on the rack as well as painting the roof along with the welding of the seams.
This is worth keeping an eye on folks, it is un welded for around 10 mm.
A couple of pics for you to have a look at

If you're in Melb my Powder coater will give you a good price, sand blast, seal, top coat and a clear seal if you wish.
Never had a complaint from them or their work.
Good panel beater around the corner too

Im trying to take action. Or would like to.
Im not sure it will do much good.
I may be better off letting users know who supplied the rubbish to me instead.
So before you folks go out and buy off an import copier, you might be wise to PM me.
And ill tell you where who supplied mine.
Keep in mind that, im only telling you who supplied mine.
    And thats all.
