Some days just catching fish is all you need, not about quantity or quality. But a day out with mates on a boat with you rod in your hand and a bait in the water.
Was it a shocker cos your mates didn't talk to you or because your mates were catching all the fish.

Just bought some Ribbon fish from the market to try as bait.
Thick skin, skinny fish used as whole slices, think it will work a treat.
Might work well as gummy bait.
Only problem is that I don't know how well this fish freezes and defrosts, whether or not it will be mushy fish once it defrosts.
Has anybody used RibbonFish as bait.

Attachment 45708 as luck would have it I was out fished again by the boy..... 61cm barra his biggest to date, I still can not wipe the smile from his face.
Nice catch. I had success at the Navy dock up there for Barra, just out on the rock wall.
Got a call from my parents in Coral Bay. They called to say G'day...Yeah Right! To brag about their day's catch... Both got a heap of Charlie Court Cod, and a Cobia, each. Mum's was 87cm and Dad's would have been over a metre long but a shark took a bit of the tail just as he got it to the boat.
