Just got back from Gunbower Island. Loved the heat and the river. I caught so many silver perch (nice sizes too) that they out-numbered the carp. It was hard to have to release the buggers, but I suppose it is a good sign that they're breeding their way back from extinction. I didn't get a cod, but Dad caught three; 38cm 55cm and 58 cm. All good, fit and healthy returned to grow up so we can catch 'em in the future. We found a really good sand bank, where we expected to get a yellow belly or two, but just caught a few more silvers. I really didn't want to leave, but the real world needed attention.
My advice is: not to follow my advice.

I caught heaps of Silver Perch last January at Chowilla and didn't catch any Carp, was frustrating to have to let them go.

Just got a letter from Wyndham council saying there has been some illegal and dangerous behaviour at the werribee south boat ramp (WSBR). They say "The behaviour involves individuals loosening tow bars and trailers attachments while parked at the WSBR..."

For those that use it, just keep an eye out.

I guess that's one way to get a new trailer.
