Yeah was all good. I'm sure you will get to see more on 4wdtv. There was a fair bit of filming. I checked my photos that my dad took. He was taking shots with my camera. Not may good shots tbh, just my truck with its wheel off in the rut.
Stevo, you missed out on a good day. All the guys and gals were fantastic.
I also forgot to thank anyone else who helped in my recovery, Andy and the youngin' with the eyebrow piercing and the others. I am shite with names sorry guys.
Mate all I did was stand and learn. Darren was right on it hey, would love to go in the GQ with him for a day, reckon I'd learn so much.
Here are some pics I have of my great day. Not many as my dad was doing the shooting but here you go.
The zook will be up for sale if you know anyone who might be interested. This thing has a 2inch lift, twin ARB air lockers, ARB winch and bar and UHF. Goes anywhere this thing, but its way too light. If it were only me and him when my tyre blew out and had to be I snatched, I would have done it.
Big thanks again to everyone that helped me out that day, Darren, AB, and the dude with the eye piercing, erm, winnie?, also to the others who all stepped in. Sorry I am crap with names... It was my first time out in nearly fifteen years and when the time came, all the experienced show that day for the guys who helped. I was totally blown away how the blown out tyre was fix and put back on. I would have just put my spare on and kept going. My dad who came along is 72, had never been 4wd'ing nearly shat himself at the Devils Staircase ( I think it was called) just as well it was dry as I would have too. I know it was easy going for everyone else but nothing pays better than experience.
My hat really goes off to AB for holding such a wonderful event, and running this great forum. I really can't wait now for the next meet up.
Now after this weekend I have just added a few more things to my wish list. 35's to be one of them so I don't get my diff's hung up of a bloody rut. I did feel quite embarrassed it happened. But on the final attempt to get out of the rut I was actually getting out with full noise and thats when my tyre slammed the wall and went BANG!
Cheers Mudski, mate pm me about the Zook, I might be interested in it depending on the price.
Glad you had a good weekend mate.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever. WARNING: Towballs used for recoveries can, and do kill people and damage property.
I just stayed last night and cruised home this morning. Was good to have a chinwag, a frothy and put faces to names.
Hope everyone made it through the day with body & rig intact:-)

Don't worry bout getting embarrassed man it could have been any one of us stuck there man it only takes that split second for the tyre to be in the wrong spot. With out blowing my own trumpet I am only running 31 at,s with 2 inch lift and got through easy, that rock climb was interesting to say the least there was a few times I nearly lost my breakfast. I would have lent a hand as well but by the time I got down there, there was already to many people in and around the tyre.
Live life, Love life.
Snatch straps on towballs can harm and/or kill!!!!!!
