04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there
Damn Ive had two hilux previously and carried 1.4 ton on the tray everyday I had them with air bellows pumped to 65-80 psi and never had any issues ....
Apart from a smashed ring/ pinion that punched a tooth through the diff case, went through a set of brake pads every 10,000k and had the diff resealed about 6 times in 3 yrs. auto temp light came on any time it was in soft sand, stereo replaced 4 times (may have had something to do with all the cement dust in the cab from work) let's just say if all of these issues weren't fixed under warranty I'd have been pissed . unbreakable lol
Not un common up here. I saw one a few weeks ago with the dash (the entire dash) on the front seats. I wanted to take some photo's but the guy at the tojo dealer got all stroppy.
We had one with numerous issues, it developed an oil leak every time we went 4WDing, busted a diff crown wheel & pinion, EDU failed, shaft boots not up to it and the handbrake only worked on the flat.
We busted a strut on the Simpson, not the struts fault it is the design. Nice to drive on the road especially but......
Got rid of it when the extended warrantee ran out.
PS touch wood the Nissan has not had any issues from being off road in 28 months of ownership!!!
toyota has dropped the ball with the newer hilux, i had to mod the driveline to beef it up just to get 33" to flex, but i'm SAS with gu front and rear, should be able to get 37" under with airbag suspention
