straddie
hey guys, heading off to straddie next weekend with the missus and my parents with their camper trailer in tow. Wondering if anyone has been to main beach lately and can let me know of the camp groung entrances off main beach. Haven't had any trouble there before but this will be the first time with a trailer! On another note you can bet this great weather we have been having will stop as soon as we back the patrol LOL

Was @ Straddie a couple of months ago if its a help mate, some tracks to the main beach campsites can be a litte steep, but if you choose a easy one and drive along behind the dunes to a spot you will have to be OK, i dont remember seeing any big eroded steps around the camp entry/s, (unlike further down the beach)
We were in a hilux and got in via one of the steep/harder entry points, did take a couple of goes ,but i didnt have the tyres right down either, perhaps tell the folks with the trailer to wait on the beach while you scout out a nice easy way in for them.
Have fun !

Ha-ha, don't be too upset mate, you "do" need to catch a car ferry to get your Patrol over to North Stradbroke Island, just as you do to Fraser, and to Moreton Island (see how i threw in some of the other cool islands we have close by, lol), "Bribie" Island does have a bridge you can drive across.
No ferry needed to get to Rainbow and Teewah Beach, I really do love the fact, that Brisbane has arguably some of the best beaches in the World all within a 3hr drive , and the perfect weather to enjoy them

Hi Guys, Was over main beach last month. Most of the approaches into the beach camping spots were quite steep due to some beach erosion from big tides. Good luck with a camper in tow. A snatch strap and a winch will get you get in though!

Yep steep campsite entrance, watch your tides as well.
Flinders beach is camper trailer camping with no issues...
