Need Help (precleaner for Genuine Nissan Snorkel)

Has anyone fitted a Cyclonic Precleaner to a Genuine Nissan snorkel? I want to fit one to mine to reduce the dust clogging the air fitler, but the snorkel is sitting against the "A" pillar, and so it won't fit.. I had thought about making up a pipe to extend the snorkel a bit so it will fit, but interested if anyone else has bothered with one of these - do they do anything?
